Nvidia (NVDA, Financials) is expanding its reach in AI infrastructure through a new partnership with Australia's Firmus Technologies.

Firmus said it will buy Nvidia systems and sell Nvidia-powered cloud services to AI companies that need access to computing power. The goal is to make high-end infrastructure easier to reach for smaller and fast-growing AI firms.

The deal includes 170,000 GPUs, with deliveries expected from early 2027 through early 2028. The systems will be located in Batam, Indonesia.

Firmus said it could generate up to $30 billion in revenue over the first six years, based on customer commitments.

The company says the partnership is meant to narrow the gap between large AI players, which can secure cheaper infrastructure because of their scale and credit strength, and smaller firms trying to compete.

For Nvidia, the deal adds another channel for selling hardware and earning cloud-related revenue as demand for AI computing remains high.
