On 1 July, Medclair’s industrial system for the collection and destruction of nitrous oxide into nitrogen and oxygen was presented in collaboration with SUEZ, one of the world's leading players in water and waste management with a presence in 40 countries. The workshop gathered regional authorities, government representatives, industry stakeholders, and the media, where the companies demonstrated the solution for the safe and sustainable management of nitrous oxide.

Nitrous oxide canisters represent a growing environmental challenge in France, with up to 200 canisters found every day in the bottom ash of waste incineration plants. Consequently, several operators have initiated procurement processes for solutions to address this challenge. Medclair already has multiple customers in France and an established presence in the French market, positioning the company strongly in the ongoing procurement processes within this field.

SUEZ has invested in a pilot plant from Medclair for the safe collection and destruction of residual nitrous oxide in used canisters. The facility will verify the technology and help reduce the risks that nitrous oxide canisters pose to waste facilities and municipal waste management.

The investment is part of SUEZ's ambition to establish a leading position in the safe handling and treatment of nitrous oxide canisters in France. The pilot facility will be evaluated ahead of a planned scale-up to meet the growing demand in current and future procurement processes. The order was announced by Medclair in March 2026, though the customer’s identity could not be disclosed at the time due to confidentiality agreements.

"Having a major global player like SUEZ select Medclair’s technology for this pilot project is a strong validation of both the company and our solution. It consolidates our presence in France, which is one of our priority markets and where we already have recurring customers. The project further strengthens our position in a market where the need for nitrous oxide management is increasing and new procurement processes are expected," says Jonas Lundh, CEO of Medclair.
