Boeing NYSE:BA could secure another major 787 order as Riyadh Air weighs buying roughly 25 to 30 additional Dreamliners ahead of next week's Farnborough Airshow, according to Reuters.
The Saudi carrier previously agreed to purchase up to 72 Dreamliners in 2023, including 39 firm orders and options for 33 more. The latest talks could convert most of those options into confirmed aircraft, though no final decision has been announced.
Boeing manufactures commercial jets, defense systems and aviation services. Its 787 Dreamliner is a long-range, fuel-efficient widebody aircraft used by airlines on international routes.
Riyadh Air operated its first revenue-generating commercial flight last month and is building out its long-haul network as Saudi Arabia invests heavily in tourism and aviation. A larger Dreamliner fleet would support that expansion and strengthen Boeing's order book.
