NATO will purchase up to 10 Saab OMXSTO:SAAB_B GlobalEye surveillance planes to replace its ageing fleet of AWACS early warning aircraft, Secretary General Mark Rutte said on Tuesday, choosing a Swedish competitor over an alternative offered by U.S. planemaker Boeing NYSE:BA.
