Bank of New York Mellon is preparing around-the-clock settlement for U.S. Treasuries as growth in digital asset markets affects traditional financial infrastructure. According to Foresight News, the bank earlier facilitated after-hours U.S. Treasury trades involving stablecoin issuers and plans to launch tokenized Treasuries by the end of 2026.
It also plans to conduct pilot trading on its private blockchain, with the goal of enabling 24/7 settlement for both traditional and tokenized Treasuries in 2027.
