Eli Lilly (LLY, Financials), the pharmaceutical company known for diabetes, obesity, oncology and immunology treatments, got a lift after Canada's Drug Agency issued a positive recommendation for Ebglyss.

Ebglyss is used to treat patients with moderate-to-severe eczema, a chronic skin condition that can cause dry, itchy and inflamed skin.

The drug was already approved in Canada, but the new recommendation could help expand public access. That matters because broader reimbursement can make it easier for more patients to receive treatment.

Lilly is best known recently for weight-loss and diabetes drugs, but the company also has a wider medicine portfolio and pipeline across several disease areas.

For investors, the update is a reminder that Lilly's growth story is not tied to one market alone. The next focus will be whether wider Ebglyss access can support sales growth in Canada and other regions.
