Whirlpool plans to close a refrigerator-manufacturing facility in Mexico as part of a restructuring aimed at improving efficiency and lowering costs.
The appliance maker said Wednesday that production at the Supsa facility in Apodaca would be gradually transferred to its plant in Ramos Arizpe, Mexico, and other locations across its manufacturing and supply-chain network by the second quarter of 2027.
Whirlpool expects the closure to result total restructuring costs of about $165 million. About $70 million of the total is expected to result in future cash expenditures, the company said.
It expects to incur about $100 million of the restructuring costs and about $15 million of the cash expenditures in 2026.
