Peruvian Central Bank President Julio Velarde said on Monday that he has accepted President-elect Keiko Fujimori's proposal to remain at the helm of the central bank.

Velarde has led Peru's central bank for two decades, a period of political turmoil that has seen a quick succession of presidents in the Andean nation.
