The United States' largest electric grid operator said on Thursday a maximum generation alert and a load management alert across its service footprint has been issued for July 3.

An alert is already in effect for July 2.

The grid operator also said a hot weather alert remains in effect through July 4. PJM serves about 67 million people in the Mid-Atlantic, U.S. South and Washington, D.C. areas.
