SYDNEY--Reserve Bank of New Zealand Gov. Anna Breman has appointed Angus McGregor as Assistant Governor, Financial Stability, following an extensive recruitment process.

McGregor joined the RBNZ in 2022 and has been acting in the position since March 2025.

Breman said McGregor brings deep experience and proven leadership to one of the central bank's most senior and visible roles.

"Angus has demonstrated strong leadership and has played an important role in maintaining confidence in New Zealand's financial system during a period of significant change," she said in a statement Thursday.

McGregor will formally assume the role later this month.
