Russia's state oil and gas tax revenue, which accounts for around a fifth of total budget income, rose in June to 683.6 billion roubles ($8.84 billion) from 678.9 billion roubles in May, the finance ministry said on Friday.
In year-on-year terms, the increase was 38%, thanks to a rally in global oil prices triggered by the .
However, revenue for the first half of the year was down 22.7% from the same period in 2025 to 3.66 trillion roubles.
Russia may face more challenges as oil prices have dropped since the U.S. and Iran agreed a preliminary peace deal last month.
According to traders' data and Reuters calculations, prices for Urals crude cargoes loading from Russia's western ports were down about 60% this week from their March peak.
Russia's 2026 budget forecasts oil and gas revenue of 8.92 trillion roubles. Total budget revenue this year is projected at 40.283 trillion roubles.
Last year, federal budget oil and gas revenue dropped 24% to 8.48 trillion roubles, the lowest since 2020.
