The SENSEX Index gained 444 points or 0.58 percent on Wednesday to close at 76923 points.
Gains were led by Eternal Limited (3.97%), Nestle India (3.40%) and Asian Paints (3.01%).
Biggest losers were HCL Tech (-3.43%), Tech Mahindra (-3.18%) and Tata Consultancy (-2.49%).
