The Shangai Composite Index decreased 12 points or 0.30 percent on Wednesday to close at 3955 points.

The decline was led by Zhejiang Zheneng (-8.59%), Sanan Optoelectron (-4.68%) and Shanghai Petrochemical (-3.75%).

On the upside, the strongest performers were China International (7.11%), China Pacific Insu (4.86%) and China Life Insurance (4.78%).
