Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney on Thursday announced plans for a new oil pipeline from Alberta to the Pacific coast that will be constructed by Trans Mountain Corp in coordination with Pembina Pipeline Corp TSX:PPL.

Carney made the announcement in Calgary alongside Alberta Premier Danielle Smith, whose government said in a statement that construction of the new pipeline would commence as early as September 1, 2027.
