UTI Asset Management Company has acquired Rs 425 crore worth shares in Multi Commodity Exchange of India via open market transactions on June 29.

MCX India shares may have reacted to the transaction, rising nearly 3 percent to Rs 2,914.5 amid big volumes on the National Stock Exchange, especially after several days of consolidation.

UTI Mutual Fund has bought 14.65 lakh shares, representing 0.57 percent stake, in Multi Commodity Exchange of India for Rs 425.01 crore. The buying price was Rs 2,899.23 per share.

Meanwhile, Pondy Oxides & Chemicals shares might have reacted to the stake sale by promoter, falling 1 percent to Rs 1,304.4 on the National Stock Exchange.

Promoter Manju Bansal sold 9 lakh shares (2.94 percent stake) in Pondy Oxides, the secondary smelting and alloying of aluminum company, for Rs 114.32 crore at a price of Rs 1,270.27 per share.

On other side, ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund has bought 4.72 lakh shares (1.54 percent stake) in Pondy Oxides at Rs 1,270 per share, valued at Rs 59.94 crore.

The major action was also seen in Ramco Systems, which shares zoomed 11.75 percent to Rs 793.2, the highest closing level since May 2016, especially after consolidation breakout in the previous session. The trading volume was significantly higher.

Oregon Public Employees Retirement System has bought 1.9 lakh shares (0.5 percent stake) in software company Ramco Systems for Rs 14.73 crore at a price of Rs 772.4 per share, however, Zen Securities sold 2.39 lakh shares (0.63 percent stake) at Rs 785.4 per share, valued at Rs 18.78 crore.

Promoter The Ballygunge Family Trust has acquired 1.36 lakh shares (0.56 percent stake) in Shankara Building Products, the home improvement and building materials retailer, for Rs 1.68 crore at a price of Rs 123.54 per share. The stock rose just 0.03 percent to Rs 122.55.

Anubhav Plast shares closed 5 percent lower at Rs 76 on the BSE compared to issue price of Rs 80 despite market maker CapitalSquare Financial Services picked up 5.31 lakh shares for Rs 4.24 crore on the listing day. The buying price was Rs 79.97 per share.
