Trump Media & Technology Group NASDAQ:DJT, the company behind the Truth Social platform, plans to launch a licensed real-time data feed next month that could give financial firms faster access to posts from the platform's highest-ranking accounts. The Truth API is designed for high-frequency and algorithmic trading organizations that rely on rapid access to potentially market-moving information. President Donald Trump, whose social media posts have frequently influenced global markets, has the platform's largest following at 12.9 million users, while other White House officials also have sizable audiences.
Trump Media has discussed charging as much as $100,000 per month for the service, according to the Financial Times, although the company has not disclosed the final price or explained how much earlier subscribers would receive posts than regular users. Interim Chief Executive Officer Kevin McGurn said the Truth API is expected to become a meaningful revenue source for the business. Investors may view the product as an attempt to convert Truth Social's political reach and market relevance into a recurring data-services revenue stream aimed at institutional customers.
The launch adds to Trump Media's expansion beyond its core social media platform into prediction markets for sports betting, virtual assets and funds focused on security and defense, energy security and real estate in Republican-led states. The company has yet to report an annual profit, which could make the commercial performance of the Truth API particularly important for shareholders. President Trump remains Trump Media's largest shareholder through a trust managed by his son, Donald Trump Jr., while the company represents one of the largest components of his estimated $7.9 billion fortune, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.
