Wistron, the Taiwanese contract manufacturer that assembles AI servers for Nvidia NASDAQ:NVDA, opened its first US plant in Fort Worth, Texas, a $700 million facility that has begun mass production of Nvidia's GB300 Grace Blackwell Ultra Superchip. It is the first of those chips to be built in the United States. Wistron shares closed up 9.70% on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
The site will also produce Nvidia's next-generation Vera Rubin Superchip, and is designed to assemble and test Nvidia AI systems for American customers, cutting delivery times and strengthening domestic supply chain resilience. Wistron said the plant will use Nvidia's accelerated computing, digital twin technology and AI models to run its own factory operations, and will serve as a hub in its global AI manufacturing network.
Wistron chairman Simon Lin and Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang inaugurated the facility. "The largest infrastructure buildout in history is underway," Huang said, framing the plant as restoring advanced manufacturing capacity in Texas.
