Alibaba's NYSE:BABA Amap unit unveiled a major upgrade to its ABot embodied AI platform, expanding the system's ability to help robots navigate, reason, remember and complete physical tasks.
The new lineup includes ABot-N1, ABot-M0.5, ABot-ER, ABot-AgentOS and ABot-C0. Amap said the upgraded system delivered state-of-the-art results across 17 widely used benchmarks, though real-world performance will ultimately matter more than lab scores.
Amap is best known for its digital mapping and location services, but Alibaba is increasingly using the unit's spatial data and navigation expertise to push into robotics. The broader ABot platform is designed to connect AI reasoning with movement and task execution in physical environments.
ABot-N1, its navigation foundation model, uses a dual-system approach. A slower module handles long-range planning, while a faster module manages real-time movement and can fall back on visual reasoning when errors occur.
